Duke Family Reunion Events

There will be a registration fee for the reunion weekend of $25 per person with children under 6 free.  The registration fees will cover a portion of the events during the weekend and some activities will have a cost to attendees.  Here is the weekend schedule with costs indicated. 

 Thursday

Founders' Day Convocation and Reception 4 – 6 p.m.

 Friday

Registration and Reception at Washington Duke Inn Terrace 5:00 – 7 p.m.

·         Beverages (attendees pay for alcoholic beverages; soft drinks are free)

·         Light fare (no charge)

Saturday

Educational 9-11 a.m. (no cost to attendees)

·         Tour of campus

·         Primate Center

·         Nasher Museum with special introduction to Picasso exhibit

·         Sanford School of Public Policy educational programming

Pregame Tailgate Lunch 2 – hrs before kickoff time (TBA)

·         Lunch on the lawn of the Sanford School of Public Policy with alumni and members of the Duke Founders Society   ($10/pp)

Duke vs Virginia Tech Football Game (time to be announced)

·         $15 per ticket

 Buffet Dinner at Scharf Hall (part of Cameron Indoor) Time TBA

·         Enjoy a wonderful dinner and tour the Duke sports Hall of Fame  

$65 per adult

$30 per child under 12

 Sunday

Founder's Day Chapel Service 11:00 a.m. 

President's Luncheon at the Doris Duke Center 12:30 pm

·         Family photograph to be taken

Accommodations

The Duke Family Assn. has arranged to get discounted room rates for Reunion attendees at the Washington Duke Inn & Country Club and the Millenium Hotel.

Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club

A group rate for rooms at the Washington Duke Inn while rooms are available by calling 919-490-0999 and giving them the group number of 191872 or by going to their website at www.washingtondukeinn.com and doing the following:

·         On the home page, enter the requested information under “Book Now” then click “Submit”

·         On the next page click on “groups” at the top of the page

·         When prompted, type in the “Attendee Code” 19872

·         You will then be on the reservations page

Other Area Hotels

We are trying to get discounts at other hotels, but we have none to report at this time.  You may want to visit the Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau site at:

which has a good list of hotels that you may be interested in.  If we are able to get other discounts we will be sure and post them on this site and if you’ve booked your reservation, we will be sure you are given the discount.  Please note that the Millenium Hotel (the hotel that we used in 1999) is already booked up.
